Cogsy vs Matrixify
Matrixify moves store data in and out of spreadsheets at any scale, cost per item included, and is widely used for migrations. For cost it is a pipe: what is in the sheet replaces what is in Shopify. Cogsy imports costs by SKU too, shows the change before saving and keeps what was there before.

How Matrixify handles product cost
Matrixify handles cost per item through its Products sheet column 'Variant Cost', which the documentation defines as the Cost Per Item value. The vendor tutorial describes exporting Variant Cost with identifier columns, editing the values in a spreadsheet, and importing the file so the app pushes the new costs to Shopify per variant, matched by Variant ID, SKU or barcode. An Import Results file reports OK or Failed per row. The documentation lists no export filter on cost and no profit or margin columns, and the pages read do not describe cost history or undo.
What Matrixify does that Cogsy does not
- Import/export of nearly all store data types, not only products
- Store migrations from other platforms
- Very large files (up to 20 GB) and scheduled, repeating jobs
- Google Sheets and Excel as the editing surface
- Built for Shopify badge and 1,700+ reviews
