Cogsy vs Inventaly
Inventaly is an inventory and landed cost platform: purchase orders, receiving, supplier invoices read from email, freight and duty allocated into a landed cost per unit, and stock synced with Shopify. Cogsy handles none of the purchasing or stock. It keeps dated costs per supplier and kind and writes one figure to Shopify.

How Inventaly handles product cost
The listing says Inventaly allocates freight, duties and fees into a true landed cost per unit, with costs taken from supplier invoices linked to purchase orders. The costing method named in the plan details is weighted average cost tracking; FIFO is not mentioned. The Landed Cost plan lists 'Cost push to Shopify', so it writes a cost to Shopify, though the listing does not say which field or when. The listing does not state how extras are allocated (by value, quantity or weight).
What Inventaly does that Cogsy does not
- Purchase orders and receiving
- Supplier invoice extraction by email, linked to POs
- Landed cost allocation of freight, duties and fees
- Stock sync with Shopify, reconciliation and oversell buffers
- Low stock alerts and multi-store support
Inventaly is a trademark of its owner; Cogsy is not affiliated with it. If something here is out of date, write to support@cogsy.app and we will correct it.
Questions
- Is Cogsy an alternative to Inventaly?
- No. Inventaly handles purchasing and stock, which Cogsy does not. Cogsy is an alternative only if what you need is the cost record and not an inventory system.
- Can I use Cogsy and Inventaly together?
- They cover much of the same ground, so most stores would choose one. If you use both, decide which of them writes to Shopify's cost per item so they do not overwrite each other.
- How much does Inventaly cost?
- $49 and $129 a month, as shown on its Shopify App Store listing on 8 October 2026. Check the listing for current pricing.
- Does Inventaly keep a history of cost changes?
- Inventaly's listing and help pages do not mention one. Cogsy records every cost as a dated row with a source, and a row is never edited or deleted.
